The trip departs from The Hard Rock Cafe. Please meet your trip leader 20 minutes prior to departure. Travel to Madrid is by private luxury coach with A/C, DVD, and bathroom. We make one 45 minute stop. Upon arrival to Madrid, we will immediately check into our accommodation.
Friday morning, after some breakfast, we'll head out on an included walking tour of Madrid. The walking tour will cover some of Madrid’s most amazing sites throughout the various and eclectic neighborhoods. After the walking tour, the day is yours to explore one of the most liveliest cities in Europe. Your trip leader will inform you on the best places to grab a refreshing glass of tinto de verano and to fill up on a diverse array of tapas. Later in the evening, you will have the option to a bar crawl to experience the famous Spanish nightlife.
Saturday there will be an optional day trip to Toledo, a medieval Spanish town located just outside the city. Once here you will have to day to explore the historic city that was once the capital of Spain. In toledo you may explore the gothic Cathedral of Toledo and hike to the Mirador del Valle to get a bird’s eye view of the entire city. If you decide not to attend the optional day trip to Toledo, your Bus2alps leader will give you plenty of suggestions on how to spend your Saturday in Madrid, including directions to all of the famous art museums the city has to offer. At night your bus2alps guide will take you to Kapital, famous for having 8 different floors each with their own genre of music and theme.
Sunday morning after breakfast your bus2alps guide will take you to El Rastro, an expansive open air flea market that sells just about anything you could possibly imagine. We will depart for Barcelona on Sunday afternoon.
